Glenn Nankervis named Reserves Coach
The Melton Central FNC is proud to announce Glenn Nankervis as the new Reserves Coach for Season 2012.
In similiar fashion to senior coach Brian Wheelahan, Nankervis came to the club in 2006 and is one of the most popular players at Centrals. His courageous acts on the football field won him the respect of his teammates and opposition players.
Along the journey at Centrals, Nankervis won the Central's Best & Fairest in 2007, represented the West Team in the inaugural East vs West football game in 2008 and represented the R.D.F.L. interleague game in 2010. He was Vice Captain of Melton Centrals for season 2007, 2008 & 2009. Not only does Nankervis have the credentials on the field, he has recently coached the Melton Central Under 16 side in 2011.
Football Operation Manager Drew Heath is glad to have Nankervis as Reserves Coach. "Glenn is the obvious choice. Not only does he have a strong passion for Centrals, he has a strong passion to ensure our players get the most out of their playing ability. He lead from the front on the field and the playing group always admired his leadership and courage."
Nankervis was philosophical about his appointment. "I'm here to develop the right culture at Centrals. I have a strong passion for Centrals and will do anything to see the club succeed. Coming from junior football, I believe I have the skills to develop players to play senior football. I'm also here to support Brian in the values and playing style he wants from the group. I've played alongside Brian for many years but it is a true honour to coach alongside him."
