Centrals supporting Breast Cancer Network Australia
On Saturday, 7th May, the Melton Central FNC and the Macedon Cats swapped the traditional red football and white netball for hot pink match balls when they faced off in the third annual Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) Pink Footy & Netball Day.
In addition to the match balls, Melton Centrals senior football side ran out in pink jumpers while the netballers wore pink socks and ribbons. The team who won the most games throughout football and netball, won the BCNA Cup, proudly donated by Melton Indoor Sports Stadium, which was won by Macedon.
The day featured a Mother's Day luncheon during the football and a jumper auction after the senior match. Jumpers for auction included Melton Central's captain Kane Bullen, best on ground Chris Kellet, a Melton Centrals jumper signed by James Hird, Mark 'Bomber' Thompson and Jobe Watson and a Melton Centrals jumper signed by Mick Malthouse, Nathan Buckley and Nick Maxwell.
Melton Central FNC are proud to announce that $2600 was raised from the Pink Football & Netball Day. This will go directly to BCNA to support its work in ensuring women diagnosed with breast cancer are provided with the very best information, services and support possible, no matter who they are or where they live.
Melton Central FNC would like to thank West Coast Carpentry, Evenflow Plumbing, Hogsbreath Cafe Watergardens and the RDFL for their unbelievable support in this event. A special thanks goes to Marissa Powell from All Year Round Catering for putting on an incredible luncheon and Steve Graham who donated his time to auction off all the jumpers. His energy and passion for the auction really made it special. Last but not least, Melton Central FNC would like to thank all members and supporters who got behind the day.
Next year will promise to be bigger and better!
